A chewer, a lover of toys

Image
She LOVES LOVES LOVES her toys. If it squeaks, if it crinkles, if it smells like a treat.  She loves pig ears, antlers, and those Himalayan chews and chicken treats. It keeps her out of trouble. But now when I notice anything or when the toddler points out "Ella's got something", she looks at you with that "huh?" look and she drops it and walks away.  Oh she knows!!

Nutella in the New Year 2022

She is eager for love and cuddles. When she is calm, don't call her, lol she'll never hesitate to jump RIGHT up and stick her wet nose to your face for kisses. She's going better with pottying on the warmer of the Wisconsin winter days. Still some accidents, but expected. She is getting better and better at this bubble thing and the command "go lay down". She still hovers around the toddler when she has food, but getting better at when we are all eating will go lay on the floor under the table. Sometimes she does it before we are settled and so quiet we don't know WHERE she went. She DEF falls in the category "when it's too quiet, look for her" haha I found she needs a blanket to nest in to sleep. So now she gets one of the toddlers because she's gotten like 14 blankets as gifts. She won't miss one.

Welcome 2022

Miss Ella has definitely not enjoyed all of winter. One of the colder days she could barely handle the frozen snow and she whimpered back on the sidewalk to go inside. As expected it takes potty training back a bit. Thank goodness for no carpet.   Otherwise, she's learning boundaries and learning no. She's gotten better at putting things down when we notice she shouldn't have them.  She probably wouldn't mind being an only child, but if she were to have a sibling , someone more her size would be appropriate. lol. when she plays with out 12 lb sheltie, she gets so excited she just slides him across the floor and he has no idea what happened. It gives us quite the giggle!!  Shes super quick and sneaky and super food driven, we do have to be careful where we leave toddler snacks and meals, but she's not complaining lol.

Look at the excitement!

The holidays with Ella

Image
It has been quite a Christmas, my daughter had about 5 of them lol. Even Ella is exhausted.  She's definitely showing her age. She gets so excited  when we're getting the leash. She does the zoomies randomly, not because she just pooped (like some other fosters we've known).  She's a great energy to play with our dog who just loves to play. Although she's def stronger, but she'll let him win lol.  She's a chewer, hence a whole new set of toys for Christmas!! Teaching, "leave it", "lay down", and "no".  Working on potty training but a lot of our fosters from Alabama need some time figure out the white stuff and where all the dirt and grass went to pee. She was DEF confused.

What are we finding out??

We love walks. We love sniffing everything. We like peeing on small shrubs and pushes like boy dogs (weird, but peeing outside...I'll take it).  Still love to be super in your face for kisses. Learning to lay down when asked.  OH! We LOVE LOVE LOVE to chew on EVERYTHING!! Can't figure out what's the kids and what's mine yet. (Lot's of learning opportunities).  Still couple messes in the house. But working on a schedule and toileting cues.  Christmas is around the corner, hoping for more toys so I stop mixing it up with new foster sister's also very crunchy toys.

She loves cuddles

Well we got another cuddler. She has been quite gentle with myself and the tot. She's got some strength in her pull when she wants something on a leash. Her back end is thick like a tree trunk, she's solid. But when she wants to stand and put her paws on your belly she is just the most gentle about it.  She DEF needs some manners but it's all well intended. She just wants to be a lap dog and wants to be LITERALLY in your face, but she pauses and you're unsure, THEN she drops the kisses. We're working on boundaries, lol, otherwise if Ella had her way, she'd be the only one next to me....and Graham and Kami won't have that.  She gets along with the other dog, she gets along with kids. She can hold her potty, but not FULLY potty trained yet. She DEF not just 40 pounds, but will work on that accurate number soon.
